Eric Paschall pays respect to Donovan Mitchell after Jazz vs. Nuggets Game 7

Following the Denver Nuggets victory over the Utah Jazz in game seven of the playoffs, Eric Paschall shared respect for Donovan Mitchell.

Although Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are outside of the Orlando Bubble, backcourt play has been in good hands at Disney World.

The battle between Donovan Mitchell and Jamal Murray has quickly blossomed into one of the lead stories in the 2020 NBA Playoffs. Following 50 point performances from both young guards in the series, Mitchell and Murray laced up against each other for game seven.

Although the headliners of Murray and Mitchell failed to record over 25 points, game seven lived up to the hype.

A second-half comeback from the Jazz tied the game with under a minute remaining. Nikola Jokic swished a turnaround hook shot to give the Nuggets a two-point lead with 28 seconds left in the contest. Despite having two attempts at tying the contest or taking the lead, the Jazz failed to convert both shots, ending game seven in Denver’s favor, 80-78.

Mitchell finished the game with 22 points on 9-of-22 shooting from the field with nine rebounds, an assist, and a block.

Over the series, the Louisville Cardinals product averaged 36.3 points on 52.9% shooting from the field with 5.0 rebounds, 4.9 assists and a steal per contest.

Following Mitchell’s game seven loss, a member of the Golden State Warriors chimed in on Twitter. Rookie Eric Paschall shared a message of respect for his childhood teammate turned Utah point guard.
