Erasmus Hall showed why they are one of the top teams in the Northeast last week, winning a 7-on-7 competition hosted by the New York Jets.
The Nike 11-ON tournament is a traditional 7-on-7 competition and a linemen challenge, consisting of 45 teams throughout New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. It was held at Atlantic Health Jets Training Center.
The tournament began on Thursday, July 6, with the final eight teams moving on to the final rounds on Sunday, July 9. In the championship game, Erasmus Hall defeated Columbia High School, 23-9, to capture the 11-ON 7-on-7 tournament title.
As for the linemen challenge, the competition consisted of strength, agility, and skill-based challenges, with St. Joseph Regional High School (Montvale, N.J.) winning the title.
With Erasmus Hall and St. Joseph capturing the titles, both schools will be invited to attend the New York Jets vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers week two preseason game and will get recognized during the game.

Erasmus Hall’s history with Rutgers football
Erasmus Hall is one of the top football programs in the region and is known as a pipeline to Rutgers football. The Brooklyn high school has produced multiple standout players for Rutgers football, like former wide receivers Aron Cruickshank and safety Christian Izien. Erasmus Hall has strong ties with Rutgers, with the current roster consisting of former four-star recruit Moses Walker and defensive back Kessawn Abraham.
During the spring, Erasmus Hall visited Rutgers football as a team to watch the Scarlet Knights practice and to tour the team’s facility. The Dutchman finished last season with a 10-2 record and a 10-game winning streak.
