English Premier League: Watford at Tottenham odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Watford at Tottenham odds and lines, with EPL picks and predictions.

After most of the EPL kicked off Saturday, Watford (1 win, 1 loss, 0 draws) visit Tottenham (2-0-0) Sunday. The match is set to kickoff at 9 a.m. ET at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Below, we preview the Watford vs. Tottenham odds and lines, and make our best EPL bets, picks and predictions.

Tottenham won each of its first two matches but was outshot in both. Wolverhampton more than tripled Tottenham’s attempts last week. Against Man City, Tottenham was also clearly the inferior side, but F Heung-Min Son and company have been able to get the results.

The Hotspur will take on an underrated Watford side. It defeated Aston Villa 3-2 to start the season then lost 2-0 to Brighton, a team that’s starting to turn a lot of heads in the EPL. Expect a better match than the odds predict.

Prediction

Tottenham 1, Watford 1

Money line (ML)

“LEAN” to the DRAW (+360) as I wouldn’t mind putting half a unit to back Watford. While it doesn’t quite count for EPL action, Watford is coming off a 1-0 over Crystal Palace in the EFL Cup.

It defeated Villa and was beaten by Brighton only after being knocked behind by a 10th-minute goal via corner. Watford has a dangerous attack which could bode well for this being a high-scoring match, especially if Tottenham F Harry Kane makes a showing.

Regardless, Watford has played reasonably well to start the season while Tottenham was outplayed yet found a way to win in its last outing.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the UNDER 2.5 (-105) as Tottenham won both of its matches by just 1 goal. Along those lines, Watford was held in check last weekend despite a combined 5 goals being scored in its opener.

Of the combined four games by the two teams, Over 2.5 hit only once. Kane is now committed to Tottenham, but it’s still unclear if he’ll play all 90 minutes Sunday.

The star is still rounding into form, and it wouldn’t be shocking if he gets a substitute appearance. Even if he gets all 90 minutes, I’d still expect Tottenham to score just one.
