Former Boston Celtics shooting guard and current broadcaster Eddie House recently responded to comments made by Orlando Magic point guard Cole Anthony regarding how his words motivated the Magic to beat the Celtics, and continue to serve as a source of inspiration.
House, known for freely sharing his candid views, defended his statements, emphasizing that he was merely expressing his honest assessment of the team’s performance up to that point of their current rebuild. One of the focal points of House’s response was the term “garbage,” which he used to describe the Magic’s play. He clarified that his intention was not to disparage individual players but to highlight the team’s struggles.
House also said that if he, retired since 2011, was still a motivating force for Orlando, then there might be a bigger issue for the team to contend with.
