No. 7 Texas will travel to Forth Worth to face TCU this week for the final time as Big 12 members.
The Longhorns are coming off an upset scare last week where they narrowly defeated Kansas State in overtime, 33-30. Backup quarterback Maalik Murphy has now started two games in place of the injured Quinn Ewers, but has totaled four turnovers.
Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian stated Ewers returned to practice this week although it’s unclear to what extent. If Ewers is unable to play against TCU, Sarkisian may take a look at freshman Arch Manning if Murphy’s struggles continue.
BetMGM released the early point spread for the Texas-TCU matchup and the Longhorns are the 9.5-point favorite.
If Texas can will the remaining regular season games on the schedule, they’ll find themselves in the Big 12 Championship game with a shot at the College Football Playoff on the line.
