Zach Ertz will become the Philadelphia Eagles all-time pass-catcher during the 2020 NFL season and the stud tight end seems to be just hitting the prime of his career.

Ertz is less focused on a looming contract extension and more concerned about getting the Eagles back to playoffs. Even as standing among the game’s elite has taken a hit, Ertz believes he’s still among the top dawgs at his position.

While addressing the media on Friday, Ertz weighed-in on the debate about the NFL’s top tight end and he placed himself right up there with Travis Kelce and George Kittle.

“I do consider myself in that of guys, in that same tier with all those guys,” he said on a Zoom call Friday via NBC Sports Philadelphia. “I don’t mean any disrespect, but I think a lot of guys in this building feel the same way about me. I’m never in the business of comparing people. I think all three of us are at the top of our games, and I think we’re all perfect in the offense that we play in, honestly. I think we all have unique skill sets. We’re all very different, with some similarities. But overall I don’t think my game is any less than any of their games.”

Ertz has more catches than any tight end in NFL history after his first seven seasons and if the season is played amid the Covid-19 pandemic, Ertz will move past Harold Carmichael into first place on the Eagles all-time catch list.
