Darius Slay pays tribute to Kobe Bryant during Eagles’ warmups

When Darius Slay was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles, he harped on his love for the late Kobe Bryant and even switched his jersey to No. 24 in tribute to the Lakers legend. On Sunday the Eagles open their season up on the road against the Washington Football Team and Slay warmed up in a black, Kobe Bryant No. 8 jersey.

The Eagles honored Bryant prior to the start of the season, painting a mural of Bryant along with his ’10 Rules for Success’ on the NovaCare Complex Wall via Alshon Jeffery’s Instagram.

Bryant passed away at age 41, along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven others, due to blunt force trauma sustained during a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California.
