After spending a year in the minor leagues, [autotag]Dylan Crews[/autotag] recently was called up to play for the [autotag]Washington Nationals[/autotag]. On Monday night, he made his first start as the Nationals hosted the New York Yankees in DC.
Crews had a relatively quiet night in his debut as he finished the game going 0-for-3 with a strikeout and a walk. That’s the game of baseball for you, even potential superstars go hitless in some games.
Crews had a .270 batting average across two minor-league teams as he made his way from the Nationals Double-A affiliate to the Triple-A affiliate and now to the major leagues.
The Nats are 12 games out of a wildcard spot in the National League so they are pulling out all the stops to try to make one final playoff push before October. Maybe Crews can be the spark that the team needs to take them to the next level. We will be keeping up with Crews as he progresses in the majors.
