Dying Light studio Techland is working on an open-world action RPG

Several Witcher and Horizon developers are part of the project.

It’s only been three months since Dying Light 2 came out, but Techland is already gearing up for another massive project.

On Tuesday, Techland announced a hiring initiative for a new fantasy role-playing game.

“Are you ready to begin a new, thrilling journey with Techland?” reads the studio’s statement on Twitter. “We are hiring for the unannounced AAA Open World Action-RPG in a fantasy setting!”

Some huge names from all over the Polish games industry are working on this fantasy RPG. Most notably, narrative lead Arkadiusz Borowik and narrative director Karolina Stachyra, CD Projekt Red veterans that worked on Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. There’s also lead animator Kevin Quaid who previously worked on the Horizon series, and lead game designer David McClure that did work on Deathloop. Pretty stacked teams, that’s for sure. Techland’s hiring page includes more details if you’re an experienced developer looking for a job.

There’s also one piece of concept art which you can check out below. It’s interesting since this is a fantasy RPG, but the building’s architecture doesn’t have that medieval aroma that something like Dragon Age or Elden Ring does.

After Dying Light 2‘s success, you’d almost expect Techland would keep focusing on that series. In fairness, the studio did say support would continue for five years.
