Everyone knows him as “The Rock,” but before his career in the WWE, Dwayne Johnson was a football star at the University at Miami. Most people don’t know about the days where he was playing college football in hopes of going to the NFL. Johnson played defensive tackle and was a part of the 1991 National Championship team.
Johnson obviously went on to huge success with the WWE and beyond. Like former Giant Michael Strahan’s post-football career, Johnson has exploded in his post-wrestling career.
The aptly named ‘People’s Champion’ was a part of the Fox pregame show for Thursday Night Football where he was promoting his latest Jumanji movie and he shared his dream that included the New York Giants.

I’ll bet most Big Blue fans didn’t know the Giants were the Rock’s favorite team. It certainly makes people wonder if Johnson would have ended up playing for his favorite team had he made it to the NFL and hit free agency.
Of course, The Rock’s popularity exploded in the WWE where he was known as “The People’s Champion,” “The Brahma Bull,” and “the most entertaining man in all of showbiz.”
In addition to being a movie and TV star (“Ballers,” “Moana,” “Fast and Furious,” “Fighting With My Family”), Johnson also has a popular Under Armour clothing line built around his iconic Brahma Bull symbol.
The Rock has obviously found success since the days of his football career being cut short. However, all these years and just now we find out that the Rock dreamed of being a Super Bowl champion with his favorite team, the New York Giants.
