It’s been interesting to watch the running back position over the past few months for the Oregon Ducks after former RB coach Carlos Locklyn left the program to take the job at Ohio State, paving the way for Ra’Shaad Samples to come to Oregon from Arizona State.
While the leadership change may have presented the opportunity for turmoil in the locker room and on the recruiting trail, Samples has done an incredible job of shoring things up quickly and hitting the trail hard for the Ducks.
He has now landed an massive prediction from On3’s Steve Wiltfong to get a commitment from one of the top RBs in the 2025 class, 4-star Jordon Davison.
Davison is rated as the No. 6 RB and No. 96 overall player in the 2025 class. He is from Mater Dei in California, and was thought to be a heavy lean to Locklyn and the Buckeyes.
If Oregon can indeed land him over Ohio State, it would be the Ducks’ second back in the 2025 cycle, joining 4-star Dierre Hill.
