Few observers would be position as well as Drew Brees to comment on the New Orleans Saints’ huge 38-3 victory over the Green Bay Packers, so it’s a good thing he was available on the “Football Night in America” panel for NBC Sports. Here’s what Brees had to say:

“I thought they were outstanding. And at the end of the day it starts up front. I felt like the the offensive line dominated this game, both with the run and the pass,” Brees said.

When highlighting Jameis Winston’s 55-yard touchdown pass to Deonte Harris, Brees laughed: “I guess apparently this is what the Saints have been missing. Let’s launch it, let’s go!”

But he did admit it felt odd to view the team he led for so many years from the outside looking in. At the end of the day, though, he’s standing by what he’s always said: once a Saint, always a Saint.

“It was weird watching, at the same time I love all those guys and obviously I’m rooting for them,” Brees added with a smile.
