How sweet it is! Ohio State football fans everywhere are relishing a Sugar Bowl win over the Clemson Tigers giving the Buckeyes a chance to play for a national championship. Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide await the OSU in Miami next Monday, January 11.
It was no secret that Dabo Swinney slighted the Buckeyes with his No. 11 ranking. Swinney even doubled down on his position after the game saying he didn’t think it provided any extra motivation for Ohio State. OSU most likely didn’t need the extra juice, but just check the player’s individual Twitter accounts… they all knew Dabo thought they didn’t belong in the College Football Playoff.
The Ohio State Buckeyes are one of the most talented teams in the country and don’t need extra motivation. However, when it seems like nobody believes in you, there’s something that eats at a competitor to prove them wrong.
So let’s not forget this… Alabama head coach Nick Saban didn’t think the Buckeyes belonged in the College Football Playoff either. Lost in Dabo’s No. 11 debacle is the fact that Saban ranked Ohio State outside of the top four as well. Along with the Tide, Saban put Clemson, Notre Dame, and Texas A&M all in front of the Buckeyes.

Ohio State always seems to play better when everyone doubts and no one believes. The job isn’t done yet and something tells me that this Buckeye team is on a mission to prove all the naysayers wrong… and that includes the national media, Dabo Swinney, and Nick Saban.
Time to make ’em believe.
