Dolphins swap LBs on their practice squad on Tuesday

Miami moves on from a LB and brings in another.

The Miami Dolphins have had some injury issues early in the season, and it’s not just impacting the 53-man roster, the practice squad has had some as well.

On Tuesday, the Dolphins released linebacker Chase Winovich from the practice squad with an injury settlement.

Winovich was elevated for three games this season. He recorded two tackles while playing 47 snaps on special teams and five on defense.

To fill the spot left by Winovich, the Dolphins have signed linebacker Quinton Bell to their practice squad.

Bell, 27, was selected by the Las Vegas Raiders in 2019 after a collegiate career at Prairie View A&M. He’s also spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles.

In nine career games, he’s recorded three tackles.

Bell was part of the group that worked out for Miami last week when they signed running back Jake Funk to the practice squad.
