Dolphins LG Liam Eichenberg carted off vs. Lions

Miami loses another starter.

The Miami Dolphins can’t catch a break when it comes to injuries.

During the third quarter of their Week 8 matchup against the Detroit Lions, second-year left guard Liam Eichenberg was carted off of the field. The former Fighting Irish offensive lineman did well to hold his blocker off of Tua Tagovailoa on the play that he was injured, resulting in a receiving touchdown for tight end Mike Gesicki.

The team announced that the injury is to Eichenberg’s knee, and he will miss the remainder of this game.

Miami will have a decision to make regarding who will take his spot. They may opt to slide Michael Deiter, the former starting center, in at left guard. There’s also a chance that center Connor Williams moves back to his natural position with Deiter coming back at center.
