DK Metcalf reports to Seahawks but not practicing to start camp

Seattle Seahawks WR DK Metcalf reported to the Seattle Seahawks facility but isn’t practicing to start camp, awaiting a contract extension.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf reported to the Virginia Mason Athletic Facility to start training camp on day one but he wasn’t a participant in practice. Metcalf appears to be currently “holding in” as he waits for a contract extension.

There was some thought that Metcalf could be still sidelined by his earlier foot injury but coach Pete Carroll was quick to silence that notion.

“He passed his physical,” Carroll told reporters. “He’s fine.”

The hope is still that the two sides are able to reach some sort of agreement sooner than later and Metcalf can join his teammates in prepping for the season.

“We’re working,” Carroll said. “I don’t have any update for you, but we’re working.”

The action continues at the VMAC on Thursday – tickets are still available to the public!
