Almost all NBA rookies go through some growing pains when they enter the league. Whether the game is too fast for them or they simply make some silly mistakes, it happens to even the best player. And while San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama is the exception to many rules, this wasn’t one of them.
Wembanyama made his NBA debut on Wednesday night in a game against the Dallas Mavericks. In the first quarter alone, Wembanyama picked up two fouls, and by the time there was 11:34 to go in the fourth, he already had five. His foul trouble impacted his playing time and overall impact.
However, Spurs guard Devin Vassell spoke up about Wembanyama’s fouling after the game, noting that it’s not a big deal in the long run.
