Devin McCourty and Jason McCourty react to the Bucks’ boycott after the Jacob Blake shooting

“Respect to the guys in the Bucks locker room.”

New England Patriots defensive backs and twin brothers Devin McCourty and Jason McCourty spoke out in support of the Milwaukee Bucks, who are boycotting their NBA playoff game on Wednesday in wake of the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Blake, 29, is in critical condition after police officers shot him repeatedly in the back. A video, which has gone viral, showed Blake walking away from the police and toward his car, where he was shot in front of his children.

“Respect to the guys in the Bucks locker room. Taking a stand for what they believe in and for justice!” the McCourty twins wrote on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon.

The McCourty twins have spoken often about the Black Lives Matter movement while also starting a group called the Players Coalition in an effort to advocate for social justice. Devin also dedicated an entire press conference in August in an effort to remind the media not to focus too closely on football, but instead to keep an eye on the battle taking play for human rights for Black men and women.
