Devin Haney vs. George Kambosos Jr. odds, picks and predictions

Breaking down Saturday’s Devin Haney vs. George Kambosos Jr. light heavyweight fight, with boxing odds, picks and predictions.

In a WBA (super), IBF, WBO and The Ring lightweight championship bout, Devin Haney and George Kambosos Jr. meet Saturday at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. The fight can be viewed on ESPN/ESPN+, and will start at approximately 9 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Haney vs. Kambosos Jr. odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Haney vies for the unified title. He has never lost in 27 career pro bouts with 15 knockouts. His past 3 fights are particularly impressive, stepping up in competition with 3 unanimous-decision wins over Joseph Diaz, Jorge Linares and Yuriorkis Gamboa. He is the WBC lightweight title holder.

Kambosos pulled off the stunning split-decision win over Teofimo Lopez to seize the WBA Super World Light title, as well as the IBF belt, the WBO World Light title and The Ring strap. He will make his first title defense, trying to remain as the unified champ. He has managed 3 consecutive split-decision wins. This is the Sydney native’s first fight Down Under since knocking out Krai Setthaphon at The Melbourne Pavilion back in Oct. 2017.

Devin Haney vs. George Kambosos Jr. picks and predictions

Records: Haney (27-0-0) | Kambosos Jr. (20-0-0)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

HANEY (-170) heads into hostile territory looking to become the unified champ, and I think he’ll do just that. He is a good defensive fighter, and one of the largest issues for him has been resolved. His father was finally granted a visa to enter Australia, so he’ll be in Haney’s corner, easing the favorite’s mind.

While the crowd will be for Kambosos, Haney will overcome this and use the motivation of a week’s worth of chirps from the Aussie’s camp as additional fuel.

Over/Under (O/U)

Over 10.5 Rounds (-500) and Yes: Fight to go the distance (-400) are just too expensive. There is simply no value here. Instead, look to the method of victory, playing HANEY TO WIN BY DECISION (-118) as the best play available on the board.
