Despite only 16 points, offense played well enough against 49ers

The offense wasn’t great but it was good enough against the 49ers.

The Arizona Cardinals lost to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday 35-16. Even though they only scored 16 points, the offense played well enough.

They gained 362 yards overall, the second-highest total allowed by the 49ers. They had 23 first downs and converted on more than half of their third downs.

They did not turn the ball over. They rushed for 105 yards and Josh Dobbs had 265 passing yards and two touchdowns.

They averaged 5.4 yards per play.

They did not have any negative plays outside of one sack allowed. They went 2-for-3 scoring touchdowns in the red zone.

The offense wasn’t the problem.

It wasn’t great, but it was about as good as one could expect against the 49ers’ vaunted defense.
