Defensive end decommits from Notre Dame

It stinks but at least it’s at a position of strength…

Notre Dame football lost one of its 2022 recruiting commitments on Sunday as defensive end Darren Agu announced he’s no longer committed to the Fighting Irish.

Agu is listed as a three-star recruit on both 247Sports and Rivals and had several offers, including from Alabama.  Notre Dame does still have 2022 commitments from defensive ends Tyson Ford and Aiden Gobaira.

Notre Dame is also in the running for prized defensive lineman Anthony Lucas who officially visited campus in June.

You never want to lose a commitment but in terms of the 2022 recruiting class, the Agu de-commitment stings almost the least of any potential de-commitment because of the overall talent at the position.
