De’Anthony Melton out for Sixers vs. Hawks due to back stiffness

De’Anthony Melton is out for the Philadelphia 76ers as they take on the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday.

The Philadelphia 76ers will get set to take on the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday to complete the home-and-home series and they will be a bit shorthanded in this one.

With them already missing James Harden, they will also be missing his replacement in the starting lineup. De’Anthony Melton will miss the game on Saturday due to back stiffness and he will be replaced in the starting lineup by Matisse Thybulle.

Melton is averaging 9.0 points and 4.1 rebounds while shooting 34% from deep to begin the season and was a big part of the team’s ball-handling group. Without him on the floor, the Sixers will have to rely more on Furkan Korkmaz and Shake Milton off the bench.

Without Melton, the Sixers will likely use Thybulle against Hawks star Trae Young. As far as the ball-handling goes when Tyrese Maxey goes to the bench, the team will rely on Milton, Korkmaz, and even some Tobias Harris to initiate the offense.

Tipoff from the Well Fargo Center is set for 7:30 p.m. EST.
