Darius Bazley out 4-6 weeks with right knee bone bruise

The rookie suffered the injury in the final minute of the first quarter in Oklahoma City’s 112-111 loss to the Boston Celtics on Sunday.

The Oklahoma City Thunder being completely healthy lasted for all of seven days.

Rookie Darius Bazley will miss four to six weeks with a bone bruise in his right knee, according to Maddie Lee of The Oklahoman.

Bazley suffered the injury in the final minute of the first quarter in Oklahoma City’s 112-111 loss to the Celtics on Sunday afternoon.

Off a pass from Terrance Ferguson, Bazley was driving to the basket when he euro-stepped past both Enes Kanter and Grant Williams. He immediately pulled up his right knee and he shot with his off-hand (and scored) but was limping as both teams went back down the court.

He left immediately and did not return.

As noted by the Rookie Wire, Bazley’s injury comes as a blow to the Thunder who has been thin in the frontcourt at times this season.

Bazley had played in all 53 games for Oklahoma City this season, averaging 4.5 points and 3.7 rebounds in 17.2 minutes per contest.

Currently, the Thunder are in sitting in sixth in the Western Conference standings. Bazley’s return will likely coincide with when OKC looks to make their final postseason push.

Oklahoma City is back in action on Tuesday when they host the San Antonio Spurs.
