Danuel House Jr. out for Lakers; Sixers don’t expect him out long

The Philadelphia 76ers will be without Danuel House Jr. against the Los Angeles Lakers, but coach Doc Rivers doesn’t expect him to be out long.

PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia 76ers will have James Harden and Joel Embiid back in the lineup as they begin a seven-game homestand on Friday, but they will be without two key bench players.

Philadelphia will be without Danuel House Jr. and Georges Niang on Friday against the Los Angeles Lakers. Niang will miss his second straight game while House Jr. is dealing with a left foot laceration.

“That takes a lot of our shooting off the floor,” said coach Doc Rivers. “Especially, Georges and really, House too, both of them, and House just gives us good toughness and defense so all the guys. Not just Tobias (Harris), James (Harden), everyone has to fill in on that. It’s just what we’ve been doing.”

Rivers doesn’t expect House Jr. or Niang to be out for long.

“Just becoming whole as a team would be great,” Rivers added. “I don’t think the House thing or the Georges thing will be long, but that’s more offense off the floor for us. We just gotta get a stretch of just getting healthy.”
