Dan Quinn responds to Arthur Blank’s Week 2 comments

The Atlanta Falcons were the talk of the NFL in Week 2, but for all the wrong reasons.

The Atlanta Falcons were the talk of the NFL in Week 2, but for all the wrong reasons. After leading by 20 points, the Falcons’ questionable onside-kick defense helped the Cowboys recover and complete a 40-39 comeback win.

Following the game, head coach Dan Quinn said the players were aware of the onside kick rules, and just failed to perform. On Monday, though, team owner Arthur Blank told SiriusXM NFL radio that it looked like Atlanta’s players didn’t clearly understand what they were supposed to do. Quinn was asked about it ahead of Wednesday’s practice and did his best to squash the story.

“Arthur and I may have disagreed on how to talk about it,” Quinn explained Wednesday. “One thing we 100 percent agree upon is that it shouldn’t have happened.”
