[autotag]D1Baseball[/autotag] recently released their list of the top 50 Third Basemen in college baseball and a current Tiger sits at the top of the list.
[autotag]Tommy White[/autotag] aka Tommy Tanks was named as the best third baseman in the NCAA. It would be hard to argue that there is another player better than him at the hot corner. White burst onto the scene as a Freshman at NC State where he broke the Wolfpack’s record for homers in a single season.
He was mainly a designated hitter for NC State but then he transferred to LSU where [autotag]Jay Johnson[/autotag] placed him at the hot corner. The rest was history. White finished last season with a .374 batting average, .432 on-base percentage, 12 doubles, 24 homers, and 105 RBI.
White was the cleanup hitter who hit behind the best position player in college baseball last year, [autotag]Dylan Crews[/autotag]. If LSU wants to go back-to-back, the Tigers will need White to have another great campaign.
