For the first time since Week 1, quarterback Dak Prescott is taking the field for the Cowboys. Backup quarterback Cooper Rush held down the fort in his absence but Prescott is a full-go after missing five weeks with a fractured right thumb. As a result, third-string Will Grier is inactive for Dallas in Week 7.

Defensive tackle Neville Gallimore is inactive after spending the week without a game-status designation on the injury report although he was battling a wrist injury. Carlos Watkins was called up to the active roster and will play against the Lions.

The latter of the Cowboys inactives are all on defense. Linebackers Jabril Cox and Devin Harper, cornerback Nahshon Wright and safety Markquese Bell round out the six-man list for Dallas.

Detroit will be without one of their strongest weapons in running back D’Andre Swift, who has dealt with an ankle and shoulder issue. The Lions will have wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown back in the fold to balance out Swift’s absence.

The seven Detroit inactives include multiple starters on defense. Defensive end Charles Harris and defensive tackle Michael Brockers are inactive, thinning the defensive line while cornerback Will Harris is also inactive.

Offensive tackle Matt Nelson, defensive linemen Demetrius Taylor and safety Ifeatu Melifonwu close out the Lions inactives.

Prescott’s return in Cowboys-Lions kicks off at 12 p.m. CT, broadcast on CBS.
