It’s funny how the twists and turns of life can take you on journeys to meet certain people you would have never come in contact with, all because of the decisions of others.

That couldn’t be more true for high-end athletes because their first year in the professional ranks is generally mapped out for them through various drafts and team selection protocols. That’s especially true in the NFL when a coach, GM, or scout takes a liking to a prospect and makes a decision without much control by the athlete.

So it is with Dallas Cowboy players Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott. Both were selected in the 2016 NFL Draft and have been alongside each other from the beginning of their careers until now. Since then, Elliott received one whale of a new contract, but Prescott is still working on negotiating with the Cowboys. There’s a belief that something will get done, but you never know in the high stakes world of balancing escalating NFL contracts to the team needs.

Elliott and Prescott appeared on a Sports Pulse video and discussed the current situation. The former Ohio State running back was asked if he could see himself playing without the quarterback he came into the league with and he pulled no punches.

“No way. No way,” said Elliott. “I don’t think there’s any possibility that that will happen. No, there’s no way that’s in the future. I’m going to fight for my guy.”

The bromance continued when Prescott chimed in and reciprocated the respect and admiration they have for each other.

“As he (Elliott) said he couldn’t imagine me not in that backfield without him, I feel the same way,” Prescott said. “We’re here for the long-haul together.”

As an Ohio State fan, you may not be a big fan of Prescott, but keeping him on the team does make life a little easier for Elliott, and we know you’re more than likely following his career.
