The Seahawks are the only team in the NFL right now that doesn’t have an offensive coordinator on-staff. Seattle has been reported to be interested in several different candidates, including former Washington offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb – who’s followed former Huskies head coach Kalen DeBoer to Alabama… or has he? Chip Kelly is the biggest name in the bunch, but Grubb is by far the most popular candidate to lead Mike Macdonald’s offense.
However hilarious it might be, the chances that Grubb might jump ship back to Seattle took a serious hit on Wednesday afternon when he told an Alabama crowd that he’s their new offensive coordinator.

Then again, that doesn’t necessarily mean he won’t take the Seahawks job. According to Gregg Bell at the Tacoma News Tribune, Grubb’s comments do not officially eliminate him from consideration as Seattle’s OC.

In related news, Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka is officially out of the running for the job – he’s been given an assistant head coach promotion after getting blocked from interviewing for Seattle’s opening.
