Colts worked out S Adrian Colbert

Colts held a workout for S Adrian Colbert.

The Indianapolis Colts held a tryout for veteran safety Adrain Colbert on Tuesday, per the league’s transaction wire.

With Khari Willis remaining on the injured reserve list with a calf injury and Julian Blackmon out for the season with a torn Achilles, general manager Chris Ballard will continue to keep his eyes on the safety market.

Colbert, 28, was seventh-round pick with the San Francisco 49ers during the 2017 NFL draft. He played roughly a season and a half before an ankle injury ended his campaign in 2018. He was cut before the start of the 2019 season.

Colbert spent time with the Seattle Seahawks (2019), Miami Dolphins (2019), Kansas City Chiefs (2020),  New York Giants (2020), New England Patriots (2021), New York Jets (2021) in some capacity either on the practice squad or short stints on the active roster.

In 37 career games (22 starts), Colbert has 109 tackles (84 solo), eight passes defended, two forced fumbles and one tackle for loss.
