Colts’ Marlon Mack tweets update after surgery on torn Achilles

Marlon Mack’s road to recovery starts now.

The Indianapolis Colts offense suffered a huge blow in Week 1 when starting running back Marlon Mack tore his Achilles tendon catching a pass against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Now out for the season, the Colts will be using rookie second-round pick Jonathan Taylor as the starting running back while Nyheim Hines works in as a pass-catcher.

Mack’s absence will be missed, and he tweeted out an update on Friday following surgery.

Mack had an incredibly strong training camp and even looked like a complete back during the first half of the season opener before tearing his Achilles. He took four carries for 26 yards while catching all three of his targets for 30 yards.

Mack’s future will be something to watch in the next few months. He’s expected to hit free agency after the 2020 season and with Taylor taking the reins early on, there’s a high chance the Colts don’t re-sign him.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the Colts, but Mack’s road to recovery starts now.
