Indianapolis Colts assistant general manager Ed Dodds will be interviewing for the vacant general manager role for the Detroit Lions.
One day after withdrawing his name from the Carolina Panthers’ general manager search, it seems Dodds would prefer to interview for the Lions job. It isn’t clear what made him withdraw from the Panthers job but it is clear that he still is open to having that role in 2021.
The interview will reportedly take place on Tuesday, per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.

Dodds is expected to be in high demand given how much he has helped Colts general manage Chris Ballard build the roster since arriving in 2017. Ballard gets most of the credit—and deservedly so—but Dodds has been a big part of the rebuild.
It will be interesting to see if anything comes of this interview as the Colts may be out a high-up executive this offseason.
