College Wire editor’s Week 8 picks for the SEC

Our network editors pick each SEC game in Week 8.

Week 7 in the SEC felt like chaos with the Alabama-Tennesse game taking center stage. This week the only game featuring ranked opponents will once again involve the Tide as they host No. 24 Mississippi State.

After their last-second victory, Tennessee gets a breather as they host in-state foe, UT Martin in the early window this week. The No. 7 Ole Miss Rebels look to keep their perfect season alive as they head to the Bayou to tangle with LSU. The Rebels haven’t won in Baton Rouge since 2008.

Vanderbilt looks to win their first SEC game since 2019, coincidentally, that win came against Missouri, 21-14. Can the Tigers avoid another letdown? The final game on the slate features Texas A&M coming off their open date to face South Carolina, a team they have never lost to.

Auburn, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, and Kentucky are on their open week. As we do each week, the SEC editors on the College Wire network make their predictions for each conference game on the schedule.
