Here’s what I think: The committee will take a dim view of Cincinnati struggling to put away bad and okay teams alike.

I also believe things didn’t break enough in Air Force’s favor for the Falcons to sneak into that #25 spot and the committee has shown that they’re willing to give nods to Power 5 teams with tough schedules and a few losses. K-State fits the bill better than anyone at this point: Per Sagarin, the 7-4 Wildcats rank 15th by strength of schedule while Air Force is 88th, 8-3 Virginia is 71st, and 8-3 Virginia Tech is 80th.
