Mike Gundy’s Pokes probably act as this week’s wedge, but Iowa’s latest top-ten victory keeps Cincinnati and Memphis from putting any more distance between them and the Broncos. If you’re worried about Texas A&M doing the same, though, I wouldn’t be: The Aggies are at Georgia and at LSU in the next two weeks, so this appearance is likely to be shortlived.
With regards to Air Force, I do think there’s a chance they get into the mix as soon as next week if things break their way. SMU will have had two weeks to prepare for Navy’s triple-option attack, while Cincinnati hosts a competent Temple team and Memphis hits the road to take on South Florida. It wouldn’t be a shock to see the Middies jump back in first, though, if they can ultimately boast of wins against the Falcons and the Mustangs. As with every other week, it’s anybody’s guess as to how things will unfold.
