College Football News Preview 2020: Top East Carolina Pirates Players
Best East Carolina Pirates Offensive Player
QB Holton Ahlers, Jr.
He wasn’t always perfect, and he threw ten picks and didn’t complete 60% of his passes, but when he was on, East Carolina looked and played like a thing.
He’s not just 6-3 and 235 pounds, he’s that big, can move, and he has the big arm to push things deep. He connected on over 300 yards through the air in each of the last four games – with a 535-yard day against Cincinnati, followed up by six touchdown passes against SMU – and there’s more of that coming.

Best East Carolina Pirates Defensive Player
CB Ja’Quan McMillian, Soph.
While he’s not all that big, he’s a baller who should grow into one of the best corners in the American Athletic Conference. He’s just 5-9 and 177 pounds, but he was able to come up with 38 its with three picks and nine broken up passes. With Alabama transfer Nigel Knott coming in, now ECU might have a strength at corner.
