Cole Beasley spoke to Jerry Hughes shortly after COVID vaccine exchange

Cole Beasley says things are good with teammates Jerry Hughes and #Bills QB Josh Allen backed that up as well:

Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley has gotten into some heated discussions on social media this offseason, all of which have involved the COVID-19 vaccine.

Beasley explained his feelings about vaccination on Wednesday from Day 1 of Bills training camp. He said he’s “pro choice” and not for or against it in a prepared statement.

However, there was clearly a difference of opinion on the vaccine when Jerry Hughes became involved. Despite that, things are good between to two Beasley said, and in order to make things right, he picked up the phone after an exchange the two had online.

“Me and Jerry are brothers. We talked on the phone right after,” Beasley said. “We weren’t mad at each other. Jerry is a guy I’ll run through a wall for. Not everybody agrees on everything.”

As the story went, the two had a clear difference in opinion on the COVID-19 vaccine. Via their social media accounts on Twitter, Beasley and Hughes debated.

The defensive end said that doctors developed the vaccination to help people and that’s it. That was the goal, in his mind, so people should be open to taking it.

Here’s a snippet of their talk:

As an outside observer, quarterback Josh Allen gave his opinion on the matter and he agreed with Beasley, saying things are fine. Allen even said folks took it a bit out of context.

“I think it was a little blown out of proportion. I think it was more of a friendly conversation. In the locker room they spend so much time together. We don’t take anything hard or offensively,” Allen said. “Nobody looks at the guys who aren’t getting (the vaccine) as distractions or not wanting to help the team.”

For now, it appears things are all fine at 1 Bills Drive as training camp gets underway.

But a reason for the hot-button topic is the NFL. The league recently announced that COVID-19 outbreaks in a locker room could lead to a forfeit and loss of pay for players. That’s something which could cause an issue, but the Bills will hope to avoid that in 2021.
