Clemson survives, Oregon knocks off UCLA: College Football Power Rankings after Week 8

Clemson held off Syracuse, TCU stormed back against Kansas State to remain undefeated, and former Sooners land in the top 25 after a win. This week’s College Football Power Rankings after week 8.

Six teams remain unbeaten through week eight of the college football season across four conferences. Clemson and TCU were the two teams in the most danger. They rallied in the second half of their games to keep their undefeated season alive.

Ohio State and Tennessee had no trouble dispatching Iowa and Tennessee-Martin, while Georgia and Michigan enjoyed a week off to preserve their undefeated seasons.

Gone from the ranks of the unbeaten are UCLA and Ole Miss. Ole Miss was blown out by a surging LSU squad. UCLA lost their top 10 matchup with Oregon, who has bounced back nicely after their week one blowout loss to Georgia.

Making their debut in this week’s power rankings are the South Carolina Gamecocks and former Sooners [autotag]Shane Beamer[/autotag], [autotag]Spencer Rattler[/autotag], and [autotag]Austin Stogner[/autotag]. They improved to 5-2 and 2-2 in the SEC with a win over Texas A&M.

Elsewhere in the Big 12, Oklahoma State rebounded from their loss to TCU with a gritty win over Texas to keep their Big 12 title game and (slim) College Football Playoff hopes alive.

Let’s take a look at this week’s power rankings after some fantastic week eight action.
