Chris Paul leads ‘Get Out The Vote’ march at Winston-Salem University

Thunder point guard Chris Paul has been very, very busy this offseason.

With Election Day only a week away, NBPA President Chris Paul is still doing all he can to get the vote out.

During the NBA Playoffs, Paul frequently went out of his way to encourage people to vote while advocating against voter suppression. He’s joined forces with Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony among others to found the Social Change Fund and has become a champion for historically black colleges and universities.

To say that Paul has utilized his platform to do his best to make a difference would be an understatement, and it’s something that everyone’s noticed.

Paul hasn’t stopped there, however, as he revealed that he not only enrolled in courses at Winston-Salem State University — a historically black university in his home state of North Carolina — he began his studies on the first day of playoff competition.

It turns out that Paul made some time for his fellow students on Tuesday, as he made an impromptu appearance after he led a get out the vote march at the university.

The Winston-Salem Journal’s Andrew Dye chronicled the march, including posting some very powerful and touching photos featuring Paul among the student body.

In the video of Paul addressing the students, he says that the day of the march was one of the most fun days of his life and also proudly announced to everyone within earshot that he’s enrolled at the university.

Just last week, Paul also made an appearance with former Vice President Joe Biden in North Carolina, as Paul has let it be known where he stands with respect to his support for the White House.

With just a week to go, it won’t be too much longer before we learn whether Paul and the rest of the NBA’s efforts will lead them to victory.
