Chris Olave picked by several FOX College Football analysts as top five wide receiver in 2020

Ohio State wide receiver Chris Olave was selected as a top-five returning pass-catcher by some of the FOX College Football crew.

We don’t have to tell you how good Ohio State wide receiver Chris Olave is. He flashed on the scene against Michigan during his freshman year and continued his rise last season during his sophomore campaign. He led the Buckeyes in total receiving yards and touchdowns in 2019, and he’s expected to take an even further leap in 2020.

He could very well be a 1,000-yard receiver as long as the other talented options don’t take away from the volume of receptions he could get. He runs smooth routes, has great hands, and breakaway speed that sets him apart. He’ll be playing at the next level.

Some of the FOX College Football analysts agree as well. They picked the top five wide receivers in the entire country heading into this fall, and Olave was tabbed by Urban Meyer, Joel Klatt, and Rob Stone. Meyer and Klatt had him ranked No. 4, and Stone picked him as the fifth best-returning receiver. Olave was also picked as the third-best receiver according to the fan vote.

So who else did the panel of Klatt, Meyer, Stone, Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, and Brady Quinn select? What about the fan vote in totality? You can get a picture of it all thanks to a Tweet graphic from FOX College Football below.

LSU’s Ja’maar Chase and Devonta Smith of Alabama look like the clear cut consensus for top two returning receivers, with Purdue’s Rondale Moore close by. Another Big Ten receiver, Minnesota’s Rashod Bateman, also appears in five of the seven selections.
