Patrick Mahomes got in sync with rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy on the Kansas City Chiefs’ first drive of their Week 17 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day.
After a quick three-and-out for the Steelers, Mahomes marched Kansas City’s offense downfield and eventually found himself in the red zone.
On a second and four inside Pittsburgh’s ten-yard line, Worthy lined up as a running back, and caught a simple swing pass from Mahomes that resulted in an easy touchdown for the first-year wideout.
Take a look at this video of Worthy’s score, which was posted to Twitter by the Chiefs’ official account:

Though plenty of time remains in Wednesday’s game, Worthy’s nifty first-quarter touchdown gave Kansas City an early lead that may prove decisive in the Chiefs’ bid to earn the AFC’s No. 1 playoff seed with a win over Pittsburgh.
Stay tuned to see if Worthy can continue making his presence felt against the Steelers at Acrisure Stadium this afternoon.
