Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes honored as ‘Titan’ on Times 100 list for 2023

#Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has been named to Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has once again been recognized among the 100 most influential people in the world according to Time magazine.

Mahomes first made the Times 100 list back in 2020 and now he returns to the list after being named league MVP and Super Bowl MVP after winning Super Bowl LVII with the Chiefs this past year. The Times 100 list is made up of the most influential groups of pioneers, artists, leaders, titans, innovators and icons from the past year. Mahomes was recognized as a “Titan” alongside the likes of Angela Bassett, Lionel Messi and Beyonce.

Pro Football Hall of Fame QB Peyton Manning wrote Mahomes’ excerpt in the Times 100 piece. Check it out below:

Patrick Mahomes once served as a counselor at the Manning Passing Academy, a summer football camp for high school players that my dad founded in 1996. You can learn a lot about a person by the way they treat eighth-graders and ninth-graders during those hot days in Louisiana. Patrick was great with the kids. I remember his arm strength back then. It jumped out at you.

This February, at just 27, Patrick won his second Super Bowl MVP award. That arm strength still jumps out at you today.

Patrick is setting new bars. All these young players around the country are trying to imitate his sidearm throws and incredible plays. But I hope they know he’s also an incredibly hard worker. He appreciates the cerebral part of the game. And he understands his platform, as the MVP quarterback of the Super Bowl–winning team.

This won’t be the last time you hear Patrick Mahomes identified that way.

Last time around, Derek Jeter penned the excerpt for Mahomes and said that he could be, “one of the most impactful athletes of his generation.” It seems like he’s well on his way.
