Taylor Swift not concerned with feelings of ‘Dads, Brads, and Chads’ at Chiefs games

Taylor Swift gave a firey response about the feelings of “Dads, Brads, and Chads” who would rather she not attend #Chiefs games.

The Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift saga has taken the United States by storm since their relationship went public earlier this year, and the fanfare surrounding the 12-time Grammy winner’s attendance at Kansas City Chiefs games has ruffled some feathers among the team’s fanbase.

In an interview with Time magazine, Swift confronted the angst of those who would rather she stay home than attend Chiefs games, issuing a stern statement about their feelings.

“I’m there to support Travis,” Swift said. “I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”

Usually reserved, her comments are sure to have some contingency of the Kansas City faithful up in arms, though Swift clearly has no regard for their opinions.

The pop-culture icon isn’t going anywhere any time soon, and her reputation as a fearless Chiefs fan is sure to continue making evermore headlines as she supports her tight end lover.

LOOK: Eagles’ All-Pro QB Jalen Hurts graces the cover of Time Magazine’s Next 100 rising stars

Philadelphia #Eagles’ All-Pro QB Jalen Hurts graces the cover of @TIME Magazine’s Next 100 rising stars

Jalen Hurts is an All-Pro, an MVP candidate, one of the NFL’s highest paid players, and a guy who has seen his profile rise in the last year and a half.

Hurts has deals with Jordan Brand, BeatsByDre, and A-Shoc among others, and the Eagles star has now added a Time Magazine cover to his resume after landing the Sports Illustrated a few weeks back.

Hurts was featured on Time’s Next 100 rising stars, an annual look at the rising leaders in health, climate, business, sports, the arts and more.

This year’s list includes dozens of individuals, like Abbey and Goal, who are engineering new solutions to society’s most pressing problems. They are scientists, CEOs, artists, an astronaut, and, naturally, a librarian too: Brooklyn Public Library’s Nick Higgins, who is offering teens across the country access to books banned by their local libraries.

Once on the cover of TIME Magazine, Joey Erace commits to Rutgers baseball

Joey Erace commits to Rutgers baseball.

Rutgers baseball landed a big-time commitment this week from New Jersey infielder Joey Erace. The star player is a tremendous all-around athlete and prospect, who is perhaps best known for making the cover of TIME Magazine

A versatile infielder, Erace committed to Rutgers on Tuesday. The class of 2025 recruit plays for St. Augustine High School (Richland, N.J.).

Erace is ranked a ‘9’ by Perfect Game. That ranking translates to a projection of being  a”Potential top 10 round pick and/or highest level college prospect.” He runs a 6.79 time in the 60 and has an infield throwing velocity of 88 miles per hour.

Erace is a huge social media star, with over 60,000 followers on Instagram. In 2017, he was on the cover of TIME as the magazine explored students being trained like professional athletes.

Erace was 12-years old at the time he received this national attention.

His father commented on all the early attention.

“In the end, probably more like 95 percent of it is good,” said Joe Erace, his father. “He gets stuff all the time on Instagram saying ‘you inspire me’ and ‘great article.’ It’s all good stuff, there’s a couple of weirdos that say something.”

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes honored as ‘Titan’ on Times 100 list for 2023

#Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has been named to Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has once again been recognized among the 100 most influential people in the world according to Time magazine.

Mahomes first made the Times 100 list back in 2020 and now he returns to the list after being named league MVP and Super Bowl MVP after winning Super Bowl LVII with the Chiefs this past year. The Times 100 list is made up of the most influential groups of pioneers, artists, leaders, titans, innovators and icons from the past year. Mahomes was recognized as a “Titan” alongside the likes of Angela Bassett, Lionel Messi and Beyonce.

Pro Football Hall of Fame QB Peyton Manning wrote Mahomes’ excerpt in the Times 100 piece. Check it out below:

Patrick Mahomes once served as a counselor at the Manning Passing Academy, a summer football camp for high school players that my dad founded in 1996. You can learn a lot about a person by the way they treat eighth-graders and ninth-graders during those hot days in Louisiana. Patrick was great with the kids. I remember his arm strength back then. It jumped out at you.

This February, at just 27, Patrick won his second Super Bowl MVP award. That arm strength still jumps out at you today.

Patrick is setting new bars. All these young players around the country are trying to imitate his sidearm throws and incredible plays. But I hope they know he’s also an incredibly hard worker. He appreciates the cerebral part of the game. And he understands his platform, as the MVP quarterback of the Super Bowl–winning team.

This won’t be the last time you hear Patrick Mahomes identified that way.

Last time around, Derek Jeter penned the excerpt for Mahomes and said that he could be, “one of the most impactful athletes of his generation.” It seems like he’s well on his way.

LeBron James named Time Magazine’s ‘Athlete of the Year’ for 2020

The Los Angeles Lakers star player and founder of More Than A Vote was recognized for his greatness both on and off the court.

During a year where he won a championship and form a coalition of the nation’s most famous athletes to use their celebrity to fight voter suppression, LeBron James is being rightfully recognized for all he has done in the past year.

Earlier this week LeBron James was named one of Sports Illustrated’s Sportsperson’s of the Year for 2020 and on Thursday, Time magazine announced LeBron James as their 2020 ‘Athlete of the Year.’ The reasons were that among LeBron’s moves to help make it easier for Black citizens to vote in a variety of American cities, James also dispelled the notion that caring about such things is in any way a “distraction,” according to the profile’s author, Sean Gregory.

It was James, heir to Jordan on the court and in the boardroom, who established a new paradigm, in which commercial clout exists alongside political principle. He remains one of the world’s top pitchmen, endorsing Nike, AT&T, Walmart and other major brands. And he has laid waste to the dated notion that political and social engagement is some sort of distraction for athletes. In 2020, James led the NBA in assists, for the first time in his career, before winning the NBA championship and his fourth Finals MVP award, at age 35. Athletes can now bring their full humanity to their games, insisting that their identities be recognized and rejecting the notion that their athleticism is all that matters.

James has been incredibly successful both on the court and in the business world in 2020, but the biggest reason he has received as much recognition as he has is that he’s used those successes to look out for people who once struggled in life as he did.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes featured in Time’s 100 most influential people list

Mahomes is among the titans in the annual list from Time magazine.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is among the 100 most influential people in the world according to Time magazine.

Time’s annual list of the 100 most influential people of 2020 was revealed on Tuesday night. The list is made up of the most influential groups of pioneers, artists, leaders, titans, and icons from the past year. Mahomes was one of 21 titans featured on the list, a group that includes other sports stars like Dwyane Wade and Lewis Hamilton. He’s the only NFL player featured throughout the list of 100 and one of the few athletes.

As part of being named to the list, Mahomes had a feature penned by Derek Jeter. Here’s a glimpse at what Jeter wrote about Mahomes:

“When Patrick Mahomes steps onto the football field, all eyes are drawn to him. It’s not just that his combination of athleticism, creativity and vision is fun to watch. What his play really showcases is his love of the game and the commitment he’s made to his teammates and coaches, and it’s clear that is the true foundation of his success.

That joy and loyalty drive his work ethic and the hours of practice and studying he puts in to be the best he can be. It drives his ability to stay calm, steady and focused when challenges arise, whether in the middle of the biggest game or over the course of a long season. And most important, it drives his competitive fire and strong leadership qualities, which just continue to grow.”

Jeter and the folks at Time seem to believe that Mahomes can be
“one of the most impactful athletes of his generation.” They know the incredible things that he’s already achieved as such a young player in the NFL and they’re excited to see what’s in store for him next, both on and off the field.
