Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes celebrating 25th birthday with virtual charity event

“Birthday with the Mahomies” is coming on Thursday, Sept. 17.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes turns 25 on Sept. 17 and is celebrating his birthday in a really cool way.

Mahomes’ foundation, 15 and the Mahomies, announced that they are holding a star-studded virtual charity event on Mahomes’ birthday. The event is dubbed, “Birthday with the Mahomies.” It will benefit 15 different charity organizations, with the minimum goal of collecting 1,500 donations of $15 in support of said charities. There will also be an online auction benefiting these charities.

Here’s the list of charity organizations involved:

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City
  • Boys & Girls Club of East Texas
  • Child Protection Center
  • Children’s Advocacy Center
  • Communities in Schools South Plains
  • East Texas Food Bank
  • Feed Northland Kids
  • Harvesters
  • Healing Pathway
  • Kansas Children’s Service League
  • KC Police Athletic League
  • South Plains Food Bank
  • Sunflower House
  • Uncover KC
  • Youth Volunteer Corp

“This is an awesome way to celebrate my birthday, by doing something meaningful and raising significant funds for our charitable partners,” Mahomes said in a press release. “I’m looking forward to having some fun and making a difference in the lives of others with the Mahomies!”

The event will be free to watch and streamed online on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m. CT. Some of the guests joining the event include actor Paul Rudd, musical legend Quincy Jones and various members of the Chiefs organization. You can bet that Mahomes will also be making an appearance at his own birthday party despite preparations for Week 2 on the 2020 season.
