Chicago White Sox at Cleveland Guardians odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Chicago White Sox at Cleveland Guardians odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Chicago White Sox (19-30) and Cleveland Guardians (21-26) play the 2nd of a 3-game set at Progressive Field Tuesday. First pitch is at 6:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the White Sox vs. Guardians odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Tied 2-2

The White Sox fell to the Guardians 3-0 Monday as they mustered just 3 hits. Chicago had won 5 of its last 6 games to crawl back to 10 games under .500 before the series opener. The Pale Hose are just 7-17 on the road and are 2-7 against left-handed pitchers — which they’ll face Tuesday.

The Guardians snapped a 3-game losing skid Monday, and C Mike Zunino’s 2-run homer snapped a 1-for-31 slump. He had recently struck out in 17 straight games and has 46 K’s in 90 at-bats this season. The Guardians are now 4-6, 8-12 and 12-18 over the last 10, 20 and 30 games, respectively.

White Sox at Guardians picks and predictions

Prediction

Guardians 3, White Sox 1

Moneyline

We cashed all 3 bets here Monday, and we’ll look for the same success Tuesday. Cease has been out of whack with a 6.19 ERA over his last 7 starts and the White Sox aren’t scoring runs. The Guardians strike out the fewest times per game in the league (7.11), and that’s what Cease relies most on.  They’ll survive the tide and get to the bullpen once he’s out.

However, I like CEASE OVER 17.5 OUTS RECORDED (-110) instead of the moneyline. He has gone 6 innings in his last 2 starts overall and his last 3 against Cleveland. The lack of K’s will keep his pitch count low enough to stick around.

Run line/Against the spread

The White Sox are 24-25 (11-13 on the road) on the RL this year, and Cleveland is 21-26 (9-13 at home). Each game has been decided by more than 1 run between these clubs this year, and they haven’t had a 1-run game in the last 11 meetings. If you’re feeling the Guardians, it’s worth sprinkling GUARDIANS -1.5 (+150) once again.

Over/Under

The White Sox are 2-8 O/U in the last 10, and Cleveland is 5-4-1. Chicago is 23rd (4.23) in runs/9, and Cleveland is 29th (3.57). The weather shouldn’t be a factor with 76-degree skies and a slight 3-mph breeze coming in from right-center field.

The Under is 5-0 in the last 5 overall for Chicago and in its last 5 against the AL Central. The Under is 3-0-1 in Allen’s last 4 starts and is 6-1 in the last 7 meetings between these teams in Cleveland.

Take the UNDER 8 (+100).
