Ohio State football superstar defensive end Chase Young told the media at the NFL Combine that he believes he’s the best player in the draft.
Young is the consensus No. 2 overall pick, coming in behind former Buckeyes quarterback turned LSU Tigers Heisman winner Joe Burrow. However, his claim may still hold strong.
He may be the best player in the draft. After all, Young did set Ohio State’s single-season sack record in 2019, but sadly his position doesn’t have the capability of completely transforming a franchise like a quarterback.
That said, here’s a 90-second clip of Young at the podium. He did not actually work out at the combine, participating for medial and interview purposes.
Chase Young isn't displaying his skills at the #NFLCombine, but @youngchase907 says he's ready to play for any team: "It's all in God's hands… Wherever I go, I'll go." https://t.co/Avy7n2koFM pic.twitter.com/CrVzExXNXy

Young, who is leaving after his third season, led the nation with 16.5 sacks in 2019. His dynamic first-step, combined with his strength is likely to transfer his elite play to the sport’s highest level.
He’s set to team up with Terry McLaurin and Dwayne Haskins, two of his teammates from a year ago.
Washington should give Young a place to immediately start and create change right after his name is called and his dream is made a reality on April 23.
