Chase Young early odds favorite to win NFL Rookie of the Year

BetMGM has released its odds for 2020-2021 NFL Rookie of the Year and former Ohio State defensive end leads the pack.

Now that the 2020 NFL Draft is over, some of the NFL futures are starting to hit the most popular sportsbook betting websites. One of those we like to follow here at Buckeyes Wire is BetMGM. They too have started to set odds on the upcoming NFL season.

And … according to the website, former Ohio State and current Washington Redskins’ defensive end Chase Young is the early odds on favorite to win the NFL’s Rookie of the Year award for the 2020-2021 season. And it’s really not even close at +250. The next best odds are set at +600 with former Clemson linebacker/safety Isaiah Simmons.

Odds via BetMGM. Access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Thursday at 3:00 p.m. ET.

Rounding out the top five are the L.A. Chargers’ Kenneth Murray (+1000), Patrick Queen of the Baltimore Ravens (+1100), and then Jeff Okudah (+1400).

If Young takes home the honor, it will be four out of the last five years a former Ohio State defender has been recognized joining Joey Bosa (2016), Marshon Lattimore (2017), and Nick Bosa (2019). In other breaking news, that would be absolutely ridiculous.
