Chargers sign former Texas kicker Cameron Dicker to active roster

Cameron Dicker will be in Los Angeles for the foreseeable future.

After jumping around between multiple NFL teams as a rookie, it appears former Texas kicker Cameron Dicker will stay with the Los Angeles Chargers for the foreseeable future.

Dicker was not selected in the 2022 NFL draft but quickly signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent. He was released by the Rams in August and quickly signed by the Baltimore Ravens roughly a week later.

Baltimore waived Dicker two days after he signed. On Oct. 4, Dicker signed with the Philadelphia Eagles to their practice squad due to an injury to starting kicker Jake Elliott.

Dicker made his NFL debut with Philadelphia on Oct. 9, kicking a game-winning field goal in the final two minutes. His performance earned NFC Special Teams Player of the Week. Once Elliott returned, Dicker was released by the Eagles on Oct. 29.

The Los Angeles Chargers found themselves in a similar situation due to injuries to Dustin Hopkins and Tyler Bertolet. Dicker once again came in to save the day, recording another game-winning kick to lift the Chargers over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 9.

In three games with the Chargers, Dicker has since converted 7 of 7 field goal attempts and made all six extra point attempts. If Dicker continues this impressive start to his young professional career, he could become the Chargers’ long-term solution at the position.
