Chargers hire Joe Hortiz over Colts’ Ed Dodds for GM

Ed Dodds seemingly remains with the Colts for another year.

Indianapolis Colts assistant general manager Ed Dodds is seemingly staying put for another year after it was reported the Los Angeles Chargers are planning to hire Joe Hortiz as their next general manager.

Dodds was in the running as a finalist for the Chargers’ general manager vacancy, and his relationship with new head coach Jim Harbaugh gave him a shot to be a realistic candidate.

However, Dodds is expected to stay with the Colts for another year.

Outside of replacing a few defensive assistant coaching roles, the Colts will be returning with the mostly the same front office and coaching staff as the crew that led the 2023 campaign.

Dodds will continue to be Chris Ballard’s right-hand man in what will be a pivotal offseason to build around young quarterback Anthony Richardson.
