The Chargers added a gem to the secondary by signing four-time Pro Bowl selection Chris Harris Jr. in free agency.
But with Harris primarily playing in the slot, there’s still some uncertainty at the outside corner spot, opposite of Casey Hayward.
Michael Davis is slated to start there this upcoming season, but with only one more year remaining on his contract the team could look to find the long-term option there in the upcoming draft.
According to Draft Wire’s Justin Melo, Los Angeles had a virtual pre-draft meeting via FaceTime with former Mississippi State CB Cameron Dantzler.
A two-year starter for the Bulldogs, Dantzler became one the SEC’s most premiere corners for his play over the last two seasons.
In 2018 and 2019, he combined for 83 tackles, 21 passes defensed, four interceptions and 1.5 sacks.
The 6-foot-2 and 188 pounder is a long-limbed corner, who possesses the athleticism, eye discipline and competitive demeanor against the pass and the run, projecting best in a Cover 3 system.
Danztler is projected to be drafted in the third-round.
